501 Union was a no-brainer decision for Chloe and Craig when choosing a venue for their wedding in Brooklyn. The vibe of the space reminded them of their first dates at cocktail bars across New York City. Located in Gowanus, the space is a hidden gem with its art deco industrial style. It felt like the space was made for them. It was easy to access for guests from out-of-town while still having that quintessential “only in New York feel.”

Their inspiration for the wedding was a 1920’s art deco feel with some Great Gatsby vibes thrown in. The tropical flowers by Alma Floral welcomed guests with color at the end of a long grey winter. The food was served family style by Fig & Pig to create a communal feel, while their best friends and loved ones gave a series of incredible toasts.

The idea of the wedding was to reflect “us” – how Chloe and Craig like to spend Friday nights making good food and listening to Billie Holiday and making cocktails. And they translated that amazingly to the wedding!

Instead of the usual spiel, let me give you the real scoop on what I do and why it might just be what you're looking for in your wedding photographer.

My approach? It’s all about capturing the raw, unfiltered joy and those blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moments. I believe in photography that tells a story - your story - with all its unique quirks, laughter, and, of course, love.

I’m talking about the tearful smiles, the spontaneous dances, and the silent glances that speak volumes. My style is a blend of candid documentary and artistic flair, ensuring each photo feels as real and vibrant as the moment it captures. I don't just take pictures; I preserve memories.

Welcome to the party! I’m Katherine Marchand.
