Alivia and Stephen’s stylish Belle Epoque-inspired Ocean House wedding was a weekend to remember. The couple curated a remarkable celebration that artfully blended the timeless charm of New England with modern sophistication. From the mesmerizing ombre floral aisle and striking red invitations to the unexpected surprise of a dazzling fireworks display, every element was meticulously chosen to create an unforgettable experience.

The Couple’s Vision: A Stylish Belle Epoque-Inspired Celebration

“Given our wedding is both in late September and the reception is in the ballroom, it did not feel right for me to predicate the design theme on the obvious coastal New England elements that come to mind… sand, umbrellas, lobsters, oysters, beach balls, anchors, sailboats, etc.

Instead, my design theme is inspired by the interior design and artwork within Ocean House.

The work evokes scenery found in that of a real-life ‘Midnight in Paris’ or ‘Eloise at the Plaza’. Specifically, the Georges Gousart art collection that decorates the guest hallways and common spaces drove my inspiration.

Our wedding will be where New England begins…and ends. Upon entrance, we will bring a flair of early 1900s Paris at the height of its infamous glamour and sophistication.

From a bold color palette focused on soft pinks and bold reds with gold accents, to lush, overflowing floral and flowing champagne towers, the goal is to design a wedding experience of opulence, sophistication, and celebration.”

The Venue: Ocean House

Nestled along the picturesque coastline of Rhode Island, Ocean House stands as a beacon of timeless beauty and refined elegance. This iconic venue captures the essence of coastal charm. With breathtaking ocean views and meticulously manicured gardens, this venue was the perfect space for Alivia and Stephen’s unforgettable wedding weekend.

“When you think of a New England wedding, nothing comes to mind more than the beauty and classic grandeur of Ocean House. From the idyllic seaside location to the towering columns and Victorian architecture, Ocean House is stunning yet humble.”

A Beachfront Rehearsal Dinner the Night Before

Guests from New York, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts gathered for this destination affair. The festivities began with an intimate beachfront rehearsal dinner, where heartfelt stories and toasts were given in the couple’s honor. The celebrations continued with a welcome party on the terrace where Alivia and Stephen mingled with their loved ones. It was a night to remember and the perfect prelude to the beautiful events to come.

Intimate Getting Ready Moments

The wedding party was treated to a luxurious getting-ready experience that left no detail overlooked. The girls gathered in the beautiful Narragansett suite, while the guys relaxed in the Seaglass suite. A delicious lunch buffet awaited, along with thoughtful gifts for each member. To add to the indulgence, an on-site masseuse provided neck, foot, and hand massages, ensuring everyone felt pampered and relaxed. Meanwhile, the talented Johnna Heston Lape and Renee Russo worked their magic, creating stunning looks for the bridal party. With coffee in hand, music in the air, and excitement building, the vibes were high as everyone prepared for the unforgettable moments to come.

Bride and Groom First Look & Portraits in the Garden

Alivia and Stephen chose to share an intimate first look, creating a cherished moment before their wedding ceremony. With anticipation in the air, Alivia appeared like a vision, gracefully walking across the lawn toward Stephen. Her enchanting gown featured exquisite puff sleeves and a flowing cape, adding a touch of romance to her bridal look. Stephen’s reaction to seeing Alivia as a bride was priceless. The significance of the venue added an extra layer of meaning to their portraits, as they celebrated their love in the place where their story began.

A Sophisticated Wedding Party

After capturing the newlywed portraits, we gathered the wedding party for a series of group shots. The six bridesmaids showcased their individual styles with mismatched dresses in the wedding color palette of soft pinks, gold, and red. Their ensemble perfectly complemented the romantic theme of the day. Meanwhile, the five groomsmen exuded timeless elegance in their classic black tuxedos and bow ties.

A Beautiful Seaside Ceremony with an Ombré Floral Aisle

The ceremony was an enchanting blend of beauty and sophistication, set on the East Lawn overlooking the ocean. The crashing waves provided a captivating soundtrack as the couple exchanged vows. The florals stole the show, with stunning ombre arrangements guiding the way to a magnificent floral arch. Guests were treated to champagne and bespoke ceremony booklets lovingly crafted by the bride. They settled into elegant white French-style chairs, serenaded by a talented string trio that set the perfect ambiance. As the ceremony commenced, hotel guests paused to gather around, captivated by the sight. Alivia and Stephen sealed their love with a kiss and made their way down the aisle, embraced by a shower of petals. It was a fairytale affair, meticulously planned and flawlessly executed, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.
