Alivia and Stephen’s stylish Belle Epoque-inspired Ocean House wedding was a weekend to remember. The couple curated a remarkable celebration that artfully blended the timeless charm of New England with modern sophistication. From the mesmerizing ombre floral aisle and striking red invitations to the unexpected surprise of a dazzling fireworks display, every element was meticulously chosen to create an unforgettable experience.

The Couple’s Vision: A Stylish Belle Epoque-Inspired Celebration

“Given our wedding is both in late September and the reception is in the ballroom, it did not feel right for me to predicate the design theme on the obvious coastal New England elements that come to mind… sand, umbrellas, lobsters, oysters, beach balls, anchors, sailboats, etc.

Instead, my design theme is inspired by the interior design and artwork within Ocean House.

The work evokes scenery found in that of a real-life ‘Midnight in Paris’ or ‘Eloise at the Plaza’. Specifically, the Georges Gousart art collection that decorates the guest hallways and common spaces drove my inspiration.

Our wedding will be where New England begins…and ends. Upon entrance, we will bring a flair of early 1900s Paris at the height of its infamous glamour and sophistication.

From a bold color palette focused on soft pinks and bold reds with gold accents, to lush, overflowing floral and flowing champagne towers, the goal is to design a wedding experience of opulence, sophistication, and celebration.”

A Sophisticated Wedding Party

After capturing the newlywed portraits, we gathered the wedding party for a series of group shots. The six bridesmaids showcased their individual styles with mismatched dresses in the wedding color palette of soft pinks, gold, and red. Their ensemble perfectly complemented the romantic theme of the day. Meanwhile, the five groomsmen exuded timeless elegance in their classic black tuxedos and bow ties.

Guests were treated to champagne and bespoke ceremony booklets lovingly crafted by the bride. They settled into elegant white French-style chairs, serenaded by a talented string trio that set the perfect ambiance. As the ceremony commenced, hotel guests paused to gather around, captivated by the sight. Alivia and Stephen sealed their love with a kiss and made their way down the aisle, embraced by a shower of petals. Instead of the usual spiel, let me give you the real scoop on what I do and why it might just be what you're looking for in your wedding photographer.

My approach? It’s all about capturing the raw, unfiltered joy and those blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moments. I believe in photography that tells a story - your story - with all its unique quirks, laughter, and, of course, love.

I’m talking about the tearful smiles, the spontaneous dances, and the silent glances that speak volumes. My style is a blend of candid documentary and artistic flair, ensuring each photo feels as real and vibrant as the moment it captures. I don't just take pictures; I preserve memories.

Welcome to the party! I’m Katherine Marchand.
