I won’t lie to you: it was a little intimidating to relocate to the Bay Area from the East Coast and have to endure being the new girl, despite having a decade of wedding photography experience (and hundreds of ecstatic clients) under my belt.
But the more I explored California, the more I learned just how much I love working with people like you & your partner.
Now, nothing against the New Englanders or New Yorkers — but you and I both know "West Coast, Best Coast" is truer than they realize.
...and I may not be from California, but I California.
You care about being with your loved ones, keeping things laid back, celebrating the next phase of your life authentically — and ensuring your wedding photos actually look like
way more
YOU.
I know your celebration will be so authentically you that, actually, I feel like a ‘thank you’ is in order, because…
As someone who is currently debating between all of these options myself (hello fellow bride here!), it’s amazing to see all the different ways couples create a wedding experience that feels authentic to them, and I’m so inspired by you.
…and then a little happy dance shimmy 🕺🪩because, yeah, THAT’S YOU. And you look cool as hell, so in love, and completely present in the moment with your partner — exactly how you’ve always dreamed your wedding photos would look.
What if she’s just good at marketing, not wedding photography? How can I be sure we’ll feel comfortable? Will these photos stand the test of time? What if she’s intrusive, when all I want is to be present on my wedding day? What if she doesn’t fit my budget? What do I do if she takes months to send our photos? Will the photo edits stand the test of time and not feel trendy in three years? #istandwithsepiabride
I GET IT. Truly, I do — which is why I want to ensure you know exactly who you’re working with and what you can expect, if you choose me as your wedding photographer.
Yeah, I could give you a beautiful sunset photo — but if you felt awkward taking it, that’s all you’re gonna remember at the end of the day.
(But will I be yelling “damn, your ass looks good!” as you walk away? Yes.)
I know how big of a capital “C” Choice it is to decide on your wedding photographer, and a lot goes into determining whether or not you’ve found the right one. You have questions on questions on questions.
Specifically, the friend behind the camera that knows all your best angles, & who you don’t feel silly or shy posing for.
I'm never, ever going to leave you high and dry — and I am extremely communicative throughout the entire process, not just up until your wedding day.
I will always make you feel as seen, comfortable, and relaxed as possible.
I'm not afraid to step in, be direct, and give suggestions — because, while of course we all want to feel natural, let’s be real: we slouch naturally, and no one wants to be slouchy in their wedding photos.
I'm deeply personal, and I show up fully as myself with my clients.
Vulnerable, connective, and committed to being a great listener, every step of the way.
I’m actually your — specializing in transforming even the most moment into a work of photographic art that is both
I’ve made a crowded getting-ready shot at a Holiday Inn with 2 feet of space between the bed and the window look like a Caravaggio-esque portrait.
I’ve convinced DJs to keep the dance floor going with my weirdly convincing “songs that always gets a wedding floor going” playlist (spoiler: Mr. Brightside. Every. Single. Time.).
I’ve mastered the idiosyncrasies of lighting — thanks to a little too much acid in my twenties, oops? — which has allowed me to expertly capture sweet candids and romantic moments, even in dark candlelight or harsh direct sun..
& most importantly, I make your photos look and feel exactly how they did in the space, if not better, by capturing YOUR uniqueness and magic with a timeless editing style and true-to-life color, rather than putting my own fingerprint on it or slapping on a trendy edit.

I'm all about
price transparency.
Goodbye to mysterious big numbers — because you’ve got enough to deal with in your wedding planning process, and I don’t want to add “wait for photographer to respond to an email about how much she actually charges” to be another line item on that list.
In an industry known for its elusive, vague numbers, hidden costs, and “have to dig halfway through the Internet to find a damn dollar sign” energy, I want to be clear. I want you to trust me, and to feel confident that you know how your investment is being used. SO! Enter: all-encompassing price transparency — an approach designed to empower you to make informed choices and eliminate surprises.
David & Samantha
“Katherine felt like a partner in the planning process; she even advised my husband and his groomsmen on the type of shoes they should wear. We were particularly impressed with her grace and efficiency in wrangling her friends and our family for formal portraits, and her success in capturing timeless photos of all of the important moments of the day.”
"She was a calming and confident presence on our wedding day - a quality that many photographers do not share."
Love the retro look and vibe of film photos? Me too! Not gonna lie, I am so happy 35mm film and Polaroids are having a come back. I usually bring a few rolls to every wedding, but there is availability for more film add-ons and an exclusively 35mm film second photographer.
Kate & Travis
“She gave us way more than what I expected, and she painted a high bar. Her personality, approach, and respect for our big day was beyond. My wedding guests still talk about how great she was; talented behind and aside from the camera. I felt her aesthetic was a fresh approach to wedding photography. In a business that is so rigid and "by the book," Katherine adds spark and an unwavering eye to your special day. She adds the touch others may look over without being totally unconventional.”
“Katherine truly understood my aesthetic and captured exactly what I was looking for without being overbearing. She just GOT IT.”
What kind of Cali couple are you?
You’ve got a stylish, design-forward vibe, you’ve always dreamed of getting married in Palm Springs, you want your wedding to be as beautiful as it is intentional, and you want your photos to be both cool and timeless.
You’re East Coast transplants who have adopted the West Coast as home, and want to host all your family and friends for an epic full-weekend affair in your favorite place as a couple. You want your photos to reflect how happy and present you were on your wedding day.
You’re a California local and you’re proud of it, you’ve always wanted to get married in a lowkey way with immediate family or even just yourselves! You are excited to get married at an iconic, beautiful spot in a way that feels natural and you want the photos to match.
You want a wedding that feels like an accurate, authentic representation of you as a couple, you’re picturing your friends saying “this is SO them” when they arrive, you’re torn between a city vibe, a mountain vibe, or a winery vibe, and you want your photos to reflect how much thought you put into planning (and how much you love your partner).
Actually, it doesn't matter which one you are, because no matter what kind of California wedding you want...
I’m the California Wedding Photographer for you.
Consider me there, rocking Hokas sneaks & Acne Studios suit, my Phil’s in hand (don’t sue me — it’s actually pretty good, okay?), 14 cameras around my neck, empty film canisters in a trail behind me, ready to get that extended family photo done in 3 minutes or less so you can skrrrrrrt back to cocktail hour.
Working with me is right for you if...
Most of the photos of you and your partner live on your cell phones and are embarrassing, plus maaaaybe 7 cute selfies
Your wedding-related priority is simply to be present with your family and friends (yes, you want some beautiful photos of you two as a couple but your priority is capturing all the guests who came to celebrate you — bc they came far, dammit!)
You want to celebrate their love and partnership in a way that feels genuine and reflective of your relationship
The ideal wedding photographer for you is someone who can blend into the atmosphere and create a friend-like presence that emphasizes your wish for candid moments over staged shots
And you let me blissfully stray away from cliches, so we never have to awkwardly pose your camera shy loved ones just for the sake of a trend.
So, yeah, maybe you’re looking for a wedding photographer who has shot at your venue before, or someone who was born and raised in California and hasn’t left the state in 10 years (I mean, I get it… why would you leave when you have everything here?), or maybe you feel compelled to choose your best friend’s cousin’s cat’s recommendation.
I may not have lived here long, but transitioning into a California-focused wedding photographer has been one of the best decisions I’ve made thus far in my career.
Couples like you are just so much FUN.
You value letting your unique, personal spaces shine. You have a reverence for tradition, while also having a modern outlook. You’re tired of cookie-cutter wedding photos, and you care way more about candid moments than staged shots. You’re eager for authentic distinction in a sea of sameness.
This situation has never occurred in 500+ weddings, BUT, on the off chance it does - I have a firm plan in place for any emergencies (car crash survivor here!). If something happens to me before the wedding, a trained associate from the team will step in. If something happens to me after the wedding but before receiving the gallery, trusted partners will access my Photo Will and follow the editing instructions to ensure you receive all of your wedding photos.
Oooo this is such a good question! I totally understand how it feels to be awkward in photos (I literally turn into Gollum in front of the camera). After working with nearly 1000 couples, I’ve only had about 7 be naturals in front of the camera (and they were the influencers and models). My secret sauce to having you feel comfortable in front of the camera is mix of my demeanor (hype woman mixed with therapist mixed with big sister energy) and direction (games, questions, other things to help take your mind off the camera).
You can expect about 80% of the photos in your wedding gallery to be in color and the remaining 20% in B&W. I choose which photos get what edit based primarily on location, scene, and lighting. I provide options for big moments like your ceremony exit and first dance in both color and B&W. For moments and photos where I want to remove the distraction of color to focus on the subject, I choose those in B&W.
I deliver approximately 100-150 photos per hour of coverage. There is no limit on the number of photos you will receive. My team and I photograph anywhere from 7-15k raw files for any wedding client. All the photos go through an intentional culling and editing process to ensure the final gallery unfolds as naturally as your wedding day.
Timeless with an edge. True-to-life color. Lighting reminiscent of a Renaissance painting. A natural glowing touch to your skin. Blue skies and bright greens, without being overpowering. No #sepiabride here. Attention to detail only garnered from editing hundreds of thousands of images over my career.
