Wedding at The Foundry with Romantic and Dramatic Vibes

There is something so special about early November in New York City, and a wedding at The Foundry in Long Island City provides such a beautiful setting for all the feels and memories of the day. An industrial warehouse space located at 42-38 9th St in Queens with views overlooking the skyline and multiple raw spaces to work with for design, it was the ultimate setting for 140 of Erica and Daniel’s closest friends and family to gather out of the chilly autumn weather indoors to warmth, candlelight, and a whole lotta love.

Erica worked with Elodie of Tall + Small Events to create an atmosphere at The Foundry that was warm, romantic, but also dramatic. The space is quite industrial, so they brought in a lot of softness with florals from FLWR Studio and colors from Rent Patina – an intentional juxtaposition. They loved seeing Cafe Wha Band perform in Greenwich Village during their years in New York City, so they were a no-brainer. Getting ready at The William Vale Hotel was a gorgeous spot for photos while still be close to the venue.

After being together almost a decade and being rather untraditional, the goal for their wedding was to be nothing but fun and a celebration of their partnership. Which it was and more (including some of the funniest speeches I’ve ever heard).

Instead of the usual spiel, let me give you the real scoop on what I do and why it might just be what you're looking for in your wedding photographer.

My approach? It’s all about capturing the raw, unfiltered joy and those blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moments. I believe in photography that tells a story - your story - with all its unique quirks, laughter, and, of course, love.

I’m talking about the tearful smiles, the spontaneous dances, and the silent glances that speak volumes. My style is a blend of candid documentary and artistic flair, ensuring each photo feels as real and vibrant as the moment it captures. I don't just take pictures; you don't just want your picture taken, you want your memories preserved.

Welcome to the party! I’m Katherine Marchand.
